How can I pay for goods on this website? TOP
We now only accept payment by PayPal online.
If you wish to pick your order up in person,you may telephone your order to us and pay cash on collection by appointment only.
How much will I pay for the postage and packaging fees for my complete order? TOP
Any website that states it offers free shipping has already put the shipping prices into the price of the goods.
Packaging for shipping order costs money.Printing labels and invoices costs money.
If you order from us,whether it is one item or ten items in one transaction,we will charge you £1.50 per order/transaction for postage and admin fees.We also charge you the fee that the post office charge us to mail your order.Any overcharge is reimbursed to your PayPal account.
If you paid via PayPal but don't have a PayPal account,we can either issue you with a credit code against your next order or we can reimburse the money to your credit card via PayPal.This does mean however that you will need to confirm the receipt of the refund via a link within your refund email from PayPal.If you do not do this,your money will not be tranferred to your credit/debit card.
If you wish to pay by cheque or postal order,please email us or telephone us for a shipping fees so you have the correct fee to add to your cheque/postal order payment.
Do you sell wholesale? TOP
We know that a lot of people love what we sell and would like to sell the same products in their stores however,we sell retail only both on our website and in our shop.
Please do not ask from where we buy our stock.It has taken a lot of searching to source what we sell and therefore we are sure you can appreciate that our contacts will remain private to us.
I live locally.Can I call and collect or do you deliver? TOP
Yes you can call and collect by appointment only.Payment is by cash only.
We do not deliver.
How long will it take for me to get my order? TOP
We aim to mail your order within 48 hours*.We always mail orders with Royal Mail,most of which are recorded for confimation of delivery.This service requires a signature upon receipt.
*During Seasonal periods when our store is closed,mailing times will differ.Please refer to our order information page for updated mailing information.
What if some of the items I have ordered are out of stock? TOP
As the website is manually updated,stock quantities will not be updated in time.
We do not operate a back order service.If the goods are not in stock,your PayPal account will be refunded for the out of stock item/s.When the items come back into stock,we ask that you reorder the item again.
Do you ship internationally? TOP
Yes we certainly do!Just pay via PayPal as normal.Please note that if the shipping fees far exceed the one quoted,we may ask you to pay the extra.
I live outside the U.K. but would like to order something for someone who lives in the U.K. TOP
We have many requests like this.So many people love the U.S. primitive look,but for a friend or relative to ship something overseas is costly and time consuming.The solution is simple.Our checkout caters for international customers.Just proceed through checkout as normal entering the delivery address of where you would like the gift to be sent.Let us know if you would like the item gift wrapped and add any message to be included with the gift at checkout.We'll do the rest.
I would like to purchase a gift certificate.How does this work? TOP
Just click on the gift certificates category and purchase the amount you require.Proceed through checkout as normal.In the delivery address fields,please enter the gift recipient's full name,address AND email address.These are statutory fields for redeeming the gift certificates online.We will mail the gift vouchers to the recipient direct or to you should you wish(Please specify in the COMMENTS box).For instructions to redeem your gift certificate,please see the next F.A.Q.
How do I redeem my gift certificate? TOP
You can redeem your gift certificate online or instore.Should you wish to redeem instore,just hand the gift certificate in at checkout when you want to pay*
To redeem online follow these instructions.
- Click on the goods you wish to purchase as normal keeping track of the total amount.
- Proceed to checkout when you have completed putting your required items in the cart
- On your gift certificate,you will see a serial number.Enter this in the voucher field.You will also need to enter the email address and name as on the certificate into the required fields,as the computer will only process the certificate if all the details match.
- *Please note that the gift certificate can only be redeemed once.It does not issue change/credit.Once redeemed,the certificate is deemed VOID.
- Should the goods total exceed the amount of the gift certificate,the system will ask you to enter your payment details to complete checkout.
- Should you have any difficulties in redeeming your certicate online,please telephone our order line during opening hours for assistance.
Do you notify me when my order has been posted? TOP
Yes,normally we do,providing you have you have given us your correct email address.However,please be aware that during busy periods,you may not receive any shipping confirmation.
Please note that if you entered an incorrect email,you will not receive any email notifying you of your order being shipped.
I have placed an order online,but not received any receipt by email.Why is this? TOP
More often than not,the reason you have not received your receipt by email is because incorrect email address was entered at checkout.Please check that you enter your email address VERY carefully.If we do not have a correct email address on file,we cannot contact you to let you know your order has been shipped.We will receive an email notifying us of non delivery of receipt when the email address is incorrect but the system does not give us the correct one.
Alternatively,it may take a while for the email to go through the sytem.Also,please check your outbox just in case your system may have filtered the email into there.
I haven't received my order.What should I do? TOP
Please email us or telephone our helpline if you have any queries about your order.
Please note that Royal Mail do not considered a parcel missing under 15 days.
Most orders are sent with Royal Mail using their recorded service.We keep a receipt of this and can then track the parcel.We will not send a replacement until Royal Mail confirm that the parcel has not been retrieved or delivered within their timescale.
My order has been damaged in the post.What do I do? TOP
We aim to package all orders with care and plenty of secure packaging.Unfortunately,sometimes something may get damaged during transit.
Please telephone us and advise us of the damage.
We then require the damaged item/s to be returned to us in the orginal packaging for inspection.Until we have received the returned item/s,we will NOT send a replacement.We would advise you to return the item via recorded service.
Once we have received the damaged item/s in the orginal packaging,we will send a replacement or refund the amount for the damaged goods.
Patchwork Island reserve the right to refuse refund or replacement for goods that in our opinion have been deliberately damaged or misused.
I ordered an item from Patchwork Island and don't like it.Can I send it back? TOP
Yes you can send it back as long as the item being returned is unused and in it's original undamaged packaging.
We will not reimburse the postage costs for the return post.
You will receive a credit in the form of a gift voucher for another purchase to the same amount or more.If the item you choose is more than the credit,you will have to pay the extra,plus postage fees.
Patchwork Island reserve the right to refuse a credit fee for a returned item that we find is no longer in a new condition and/or the original packaging has been damaged.
I've signed up for a newsletter but haven't received one yet!Why not? TOP
Please appreciate,we are a tiny business with very few people trying to work in all sectors-ordering,packing and posting,admin etc. so are unable to send out numerous regular e-letters.However,we do try and post an online newletter each month to let everyone know what is going on here at Patchwork Island including news of new stock and pictures of our current shop window displays etc.
